Stay

We highly recommend staying at Castlemartyr Resort where we are hosting our ceremony and reception. Castlemartyr is a 5* resort in East Cork. The 18th century classic manor house lies adjacent to the ruins of an 800 year old castle originally built by The Knights Templar under Richard Earl de Clare, known as Strongbow.

Situated in one of the richest historical parts of Ireland, nearby places to visit include Fota Wildlife Park, Old Jameson Distillery and numerous small fishing villages, market towns and sweeping landscapes that East Cork has to offer.

Castlemartyr is a 20 minute drive from Cork City and 30 minute drive from Cork Airport. Further travel information is below.

Day 2 - Kinsale

We are hosting further celebrations on the Saturday, 7th of September at 4pm in our home town of Kinsale. We invite you all to join us for a few drinks and perhaps a dip in the sea in one of our favourite pubs, The Bulman.

Kinsale is a 45 min drive from Castlemartyr Resort or 30 mins from Cork City, and is the gateway to scenic ‘West Cork’ and the start/finish point of the Wild Atlantic Way, the 2,500km coastal journey from Kinsale, Co. Cork to Inishowen, Co. Donegal.

We have organised a bus from Cork City to Kinsale on the Saturday. Bus departing outside City Hall at 3:30pm direct to the Bulman pub. For those who decide to make a night of it, Kinsale has many accommodation options.
